The lonely hunter does lunch


Columbus is the home of Carson McCullers and the Center is presenting Cathy Fussell and "The Lonely Hunter Does Lunch", a discussion of "The member of the Wedding". Ms Fussell is the director of Columbus State University's Carson McCullers Center and she also teaches literature and composition at CSU. The class meets on Wednesdays at noon at First Presbyterian Church at 1100 First Ave. Bring your own lunch and engage in a lively discussion of one of the twentieth century's most descriptive writers.

Gospel Music in the African Church


The Center for Christian Studies is currently presenting on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 a class on the origins, evolution, and interpretation of Gospel Music in the African American Church. It's being taught by Jackie Egins.

Ms Egins is the Director of Egins Enterprises, Education, and Entertainment for all Occasions. She volunteers for the Liberty Theater Cultural Center, the Board of Directors of the River Center for the Performing arts, and the Open Door Community Center. She is president of the Orchette Social Club, secretary of the Columbus Chapter of the Links, Inc., and is the Director of Music at St. Mary's Road United Methodist Church.

If you love gospel and spiritual music, Ms Egins will both educate you and inspire you.

Marriage enrichment at the Center for Christian Studies


Beginning Wednesday January 14, the Center for Christian Studies presents "Marriage Enrichment" with Reverend Dr. Ron and Mrs. Judy King. If you believe that your spouse was a gift from God, then you will be inspired by this fun and experiential class.

Ron and Judy have facilitated Marriage Enrichment opportunities for thousands of couples throughout the US. Ron is the CEO of the Pastoral Institute, and Judy is a retired educator.

Dr. Pilju Kim at the Center for Christian Studies

The Center for Christian Studies announces that Dr. Pilju Kim will be in the parlor at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, January 4 at 9:45 AM.
Pilju Kim, PhD is the CEO of Agglobe Services International, Inc.(ASii), a non-profit, non-government Humanitarian Aid Organization. She had played major role in successful introduction of new double cropping system in North Korea as well as forage crops from US Midwest to Daean Dairy Farm which was exceptionally successful.She has 19 years of experiences working with North Korean Food Security Improvement projects, and 15 years experiences in seed science research, and seed quality assurance program in US.She will speak on the subject of " Current Status of Agriculture in North Korea, and Prospective view thereafter".Dr. Kim will present 30 to 35 min of slide presentation, and 10-15 min of question and answer.
